M. Aster,
That's great to hear that you've had such a positive experience with Painter 12. I had my own personal issues with running Painter 11, but by the time I got to using it last year, it was very stable and never crashed. Painter 12 was an entirely different experience. If, indeed, Painter 12.2 is finally running more smoothly, then that is good new for Painter lovers. I find it disappointing that it's taken Painter about a year to get it running smoothly, but there are others who reported a similar experiences with 11 and its release. I just thought it was premature, considering the issues that were being reported last summer, fall, and winter. Perhaps this is more common for most programs than I expect.
edit-- Although, ironically, having followed your link to the forum thread re: Painter 12.2... gotta say. Still pretty unstable to me.Just my two cents.
Truth be told, I think there are tons of really good, really customizable new elements to Painter 12's UI, and I was rather excited to get to try it out, as many of my complaints about getting creative with Painter 11 had to do with the fact that I thought the program was getting in the way of my using it, so to speak. Needless to say, my desires weren't met when I downloaded the first version, nor the second later in the fall, as my computer endlessly crashed whenever I used the watercolors. Perhaps by now, those kinks have been ironed out. If so, that bodes well for Painter.
I'm glad you've had such a positive experience with it. I wish my own had mirrored yours.

Just my two cents.
