I hear the lower register of the orchestra - cellos, maybe a timpani, a wood block and wind chimes. . . perhaps a sonorous wood flute. . . The scene opens. . . The red curtains of her robe part, and there is movement in white. . . It is as if she can enter at whim and will, because she and the stage are one.
