... I was looking at :blue dawn and then I saw you'd also posted this, so I'll combine thoughts here ... I suppose if there is one quality that defines for viewers the essence of abstract art, it must be energy, because if nothing is being represented, then all we have is the energy the artist put into non-representation ... so it is in these two paintings, and in all of your abstracts, it's the "pure delight" of energy, unbound from convention, that draws the viewer in ...
... I might add that the Chinese recognize the four directions, N S E W, but add a fifth, "in" ... Because the only real path is "in" ...
