Glad you like it Caesar, she is a very pretty girl who alas is going through a bad patch at the moment going through her first romantic breakup.
This was a reason for the portrait to cheer her up.

Thanks Weeks for your kind words, as to my gouache technique it does not really exist. As a beginner I tend to use many mediums to paint with in the same painting and also many layers to get the effect I want so I think what is happening is a combination of layers of different mediums that gives the effect.
I would say pure luck and trial and error.

she's a beauty Geoff, well done. if one suggestion would be to de emphasize the eye socket a little. (her left our right.) and maybe give her skin tones. the reference is probably influenced by the flash of the camera and it gets kind of white to yellow with a flash. but definitely a girl and a beautiful portrait.

Thanks Screenpainter always good to see how others see things, I agree with you on the eye, although she has very pale skin on her face likely because of being an English girl.
