    Building layers

Does this only work on ArtRage Pro. I am sure in earlier versions for the iPad I could add a new layer then build up paint to give greater thickness.
Now when I paint on the second layer I only get the colour on top of the previous layer not a look of extra paint.

(Paint what you see, not what you know to be there) in my case it's (paint what I know to be there not what I see).

    Hi Christine,

This is the default behavior in the iPad and desktop versions, but you can change the way paint builds up, here's how:

    -Open the layers panel
-Select the layer you want to change
-Tap the 'blend mode' item at the top of the window
-Tap 'texture'. You'll see the default setting here, 'Maximum'. Change it to 'Add' to have your paint increase the level of the texture beneath.

Thank you Dave, It's possible I may have done that accidentally in a past painting because I was certain I had achieved the effect when I did the tree trunk.
