GR-oil stains on paper.

in viewing some work by Gerhard Richter I was reminded of work I had done a few years ago - oils on paper.. I couldn't afford canvas so I painted on bristol board paper... I liked the resistance of painting on a hard surface .. unfortunately I was not to aware of things like archivability and longevity of this technique and the oils leached out from the brushwork and stained the paper a nice brown after a few years.. some of the work by Gerhard (oils on paper ) showed the same effect... so I decided I liked that look and tried to emulate it with AR...

delicious colors and I like the forms and textures as well. great piece!
was admiring the value variations in the large smoked salmon area...I know what you did there... you stinker. you are so busted! glad I inspired you. Also loving the area where the chalk came off that area onto the background. that is just delicious.
