perhaps you are going to make up for time away.sometimes it happens where we paint for years in only our mind. glad to see you are getting to do art. this is really good. I love the wet on wet watercolor look you have going on in the wing. I especially love the watercolor effects in that fish. excellent surprises. one little suggestion would be to not have the few squared off feather ends created by the software strokes. rounded would be more in keeping with the bird's aesthetic. there is only one or two, maybe just one, but would make a big difference I think. a few small touches of detail might also further your cause the way you would work on a watercolor painting to get it the way you want it. just small touches, you don't want to lose the beautiful free flowing spontaneity of the piece.. you should be very happy with this as a reacquaintance with art. it's quite a little beauty. can really see a lot of potential in your work. love the use of the watercolor.
A very nice job and although done in w/c it has a certain strength to it.
Welcome.

Thank you both for your comments. Actually, it is oil. I guess I should have put that in description. I probably just fooled around with everything, especially the pallette knife that it looks like a mish-mash. But it was fun and I learn a little more every day. It is amazing when I look at the work that you guys who actually know what you are doing, create. I love watercolor, but I am scared of it. At least digital painting is forgiving.
