My first post here.
I'm a Web designer, and my goal is to use ArtRage for creating unusual background images for my sites. Not really "artwork" at this point!
This first image is a concept I have for one site. I like how naturally ArtRage allows me to make the pencil or paint just be on the canvas.

Hi Matthew (welcome)
Very good - I appreciate this sort pencil/ink work. Must have taken sometime to do - therapeutic
Maybe post a link to the site sometime to see how the concept works out.
Good planets are hard to find - help look after ours.
I don't know how I missed the replies to my post! Very embarrassing.
Anyway, here's a belated "thank you" to screenpainter and Jono!
By the way, I used to burn these "hatches" onto various kinds of wood with a magnifying glass in the sun. I loved the smell and the smoke rising from the work. Of course, one does not want smoke rising from our digital art!
Love this. I have to admire the tenacity of being able to stick with work like this. I never seemed to have the patience for such abstract pieces, even outside the digital domain.
I like it Matthew. I agree with drawingbreath - quite some work involved in getting it done. How does this look with text overlayed? It may need quite a bold font to be legible text. Your graphic makes me think of feathers. This and similar patterns may be good abstracts for poetry or prose.
love this sort of work. Check out some of Basil Wolverton's work to see what amazing things can be done with hatching.
