Pensive by a Pond

Hi,

I do have a hard time getting into painting.

This one is my attempt to paint trees, bushes and rocks. Done in water color, knife and felt pen. Any comments are appreciated.

I just hope she won't dive in an attempt of suicide. She looks so unhappy ... Seriously it's a fantastic, moody and expressive composition.

Definitely got the rapt, far away look one can get from watching water. Nice.

I may have missed the idea, if you are leading into a sort of Gauguin kind of design of the areas in some places. But that gray shape behind her head, while it may have been there in the photo, it's a bit distracting and it flattens up to where her head is like a scarf might. Probably because of the amount of darks in the gray, and fewer in the arms and such. But that's only me, what I see.

It's lovely overall and you really got a great expression both in her face and in her body language. Nice one!!!!!!
