worked more on face, but not seeming to be able to age her appropriately.
also worked on details of her garments. almost finished or should I say resigned.

Hi Gz, this is wonderful
I like your idea too - it makes a lot of good sense to copy from masters work. I remember being discouraged from doing so at school (for some daft and forgotten reason) which was a loss I think - particularly as this is exactly the way that masters taught their own students. There seems to be a world wide revival for the traditional skills of fine Art, and successful Concept artists are expected to be able to draw and paint really well.
I admire the work you have done here and btw, you have inspired me to follow in your footsteps in copying some of the great masters!![]()
Thanks Rowena for the comments. I have watched Cesare and Eighty + doing this for some time as well, so thought I would give it a try too. It does seem to really teach about color and values and textures and all the while a greater admiration for the craftsmanship of the master painters. It seems to be a valuable learning tool. I will definitely do more. Look forward to yours as well.

Thanks Katie and thanks Amanda.
much appreciated.
I lost a whole bunch of work on the fabric because I accidentally used the
transform tool and moved it off canvas so had to start from a saved version again. arggh. well here is a little more detail on the fabric and close up work on the face. I think I am done. I know at the moment I am a bit fried from looking at the fabric and trying to simulate it. good enough I think. we'll see.
Don't worry about fabric, I'd say. You're going very well.
Once You deem it finished, You may always try to reintroduce some texture at the end by changing and setting the right canvas pattern/ grain (in case just create it) and use some tool, like low pressure chalk for instance, that may add thereup the pattern/ grain and/or knife to give and a similar or messed up lower layer and use hard eraser to simulate some traits and dirt on the painting ...
Panta rei (everything flows)!
Thanks Cesare. I sure could use a good canvas grain if you have any. If anyone has any seamless ones that don't repeat the pattern and actually look like canvas would be greatly appreciated. I seem to remember Robert Wade having a good seamless canvas texture. I will try to search that.
edit: I did find one by Fashmir.
there are some old ones by Ico Dy but they are for previous version of artrage I think.
