Hi,
This is the portrait # 8 for me. This is the painting of a Sea Gypsy/Moken man of Adaman sea. It is in his environment - the sea.
The people are sea nomads, spending half of the year in the Adaman sea in boats made from whole trees, settled on land only in monsoon season.
It has been documented that this people can plunge to 75 feet depth without any life support gear and can also lower their heart rates in order to hold their breaths for twice as long as other humans. Also the Swedish scientist Anna Gislen documented that Moken children have the ability to constrict their pupils to tiny pinpoints when they're in the water, thus sharpen their sight and see much better underwater than the rest of us.
This painting was done in oil, using knife and MP brush on hair, thanks to MP.
Please feel free to give advice and comments.![]()
