Simple Canvas Tip

Hi! With the PaletteKnifeFlat may we use a wide range of textured effects ... how?

1) Select a canvas (in this example I'm using the softcanvas No. 22 from my collection)
2) paint (with feltpen in this example... I always suggest for realistic portraits) and use the "PaletteKnife Flat" as you wish
3) Open "Canvas Settings"
4) Increase or decrease the GrainSize (40/70/80 or whatever you prefer) and move the colors of your painting again with the "PaletteKnife Flat".





5) Now ... You can also change the canvas and make the same procedure. In this way, you will have different textures on your painting.
6) Put the canvas you have chosen to start

Tips: when your painting is completed, you can set the GrainSize and the Roughness to "zero." In this way the main canvas is canceled, but remain the strokes with the other canvases.

Hi Misterpaint,

This is a neat trick to add to the toolbox
Did you know it also applies with drawing tools(crayon/chalk)
and the paint-roller
I mean to change the layer texture settings and it paints with a different structure.

To bad one needs to press OK to change the layer-texture setting,
would make a great instant bit-mapped brush to use

yes yes I know, but how many know ... I paint only with a set of tools (feltpen, paletteknife and airbrush)

Crayon/chalk and paintroller are not suitable for realistic portraits :\
is the good level of mixing colors that allows at feltpen and airbrush the first place in the standings. This is just a simple tutorial on using advanced of the canvases and in this way you can use the feltpen with some additional feature.

MP, you can get a realistic effect using the chalk/crayon as long as you drop the textures when applying the chalk/crayon.

yeah tasquith but this is a simple tutorial for "canvas effect" and not "Effect Instrument."

The effect is reproduced from the magnification of the canvas and its reduction and in this way you can use the feltpen with some additional feature... is a simple game... all here :-)
