What I drew by following his tutorial. I did'nt have any half tones or anything like that so I used the brush tool and keeped it in the greys.

I hope you find this cute and interesting and I reckon it looks very manga like

Dang I absolutely love that hat. What an adorable little guy. A princess will come along and kiss him and bam! back to being a soldier. Nicely drawn!

It has the expression of something in Miasaki's world, though the style wouldn't lend itself too much to animation. But as single drawings it works nicely. Has an artsy expressive outsider look.

This is just so cute, Turtleman and you did a great job with the gray tone, too! I think you've pulled it off quite well. EM is one of my favorite Manga artists in this forum...her tutorial is just wonderful, too.

BTW....here are some great stencils for doing half-tones. There are also a couple of half-tone stencils that come with AR3 but I am not sure if that is what you have or not.
