Smile Another Way to Use the Custom Picker

I've been watching this thread with some interest (BTW, great stuff Dany51 and Viktor), and I thought I might pass along another idea which can be done with the custom picker which I've been doing for a while.

One of the things I've been missing with Artrage was a place to "smush", blend and mix the colours. Don't get me wrong -- the pre-set mixers have been good but when it comes to things like skin tones and eye colours I've found them a bit awkward to work with. So, I started saving 200x200 colour pickers where I've been premixing them and then saving them for previous use. For example, on a recent painting, I used the colour picker below to emulate skin colours.

A .png file is a "personal" or "portable" network graphics type of file. It is transportable across many different types of applications. In the ArtRage file system, it is useful for creating or storing files that go into various sub-files including "Grains" in your Ambient Designs folder under "Resources".

    Thanks for the info,...

But,... i still have no clue as to what to click on,...where to look. I was wanting the palet for portraits,.. but like i said i have no clue how, what, or where to click....lol. I really only bought this comp to use for personal drawing, i know it has a killer graphics card "whatever that is" 4 GB of ram.."whatever that does" and 600 GB Memory,..i kinda have an idea about that, lol. I bought a nice wacom and i love using it,...but i have no other computer skills, lol. Can you dumb down how i go about getting the portrait pallet that everyone was on about in the start of this thread?..any help would be great

    Dear Bublis,
Right click on png file (palette image) that you want (at uppermost in first post of this thread) then choose Copy command and paste it to desktop. Then copy (or cut) the png file and paste it in C:\Program Files\Ambient Design\ArtRage 2\Resources\Pickers folder. Okey?

Wow, such resources in this forum! Thanks guys!
Hey newbies, scroll to the start of this thread and read through for excellent instructions. If you still can't follow them on your $2,000 computer then spend a penny on a basic computer class, you won't regret it!
These custom pallettes are very inspiring. I just make take my tablet to a park to draw if the weather warms up!
