PaintLink crashes or freezes without connecting

I tried to use the Collaborative Painting feature in ArtRage Vitae with a friend and was unable to do so after many failed attempts.

The check button to accept the session would not work. When the button did work, Vitae would crash.

This happened on both ends as we switched back and forth to start a PaintLink session.

Please don't give me that use a "command line or console" BS. That's not how this is supposed to work. We followed the instructions in the PaintLink Manual.

I'm using:
Lenovo ThinkPad P50
Windows 10 Version 21H1
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
installed RAM - 8.00 GB
