Well right now it reads as a path in the woods. I am not so sure that is a bad thing because it looks quite beautiful to me.

That's a really cool style. Feels a bit like a watercolorist's sensibilities, without the watercolor paint.
Very good. I love the color, the iterative feel to the leaves and the overall feel. It says dimension. . . meaning it works as a foresty road. But it also has a really almost sculptural quality, where they canvas is divided up into large, rolling segments. And it holds up even with the details.
I think you could spawn a lot from this one as a creative seed for style possibilities.

Spot on with the tones and colours Robert. Lovely, tranquil scene.
