Try using the crayon on smooth paper. I feel it gives a better marker feeling than the marker does, maybe that's b/c 'm not used to the markers. Either way, I feel the crayon on smooth/cel is a lovely experience. It feels like oil pastels mixed with paint+lots of thinner.
the marker is a bit unintuative with the wetness or is it dryness, and blending. My favorite is still the paint but a CLOSE second now is the crayon on smooth.
