Hi All

Question if you do a picture and want to add an layer background but your main pic has got white in it and you don't want the color to go over it (white) is there a way to put layer 1 on layer 2 so you can see where you are going.

One thing you can do is add a new layer, then go to the layer stack and drag the new layer to below the original layer.
Then from each layers popup menu, edit the paper settings. Make the paper opacity for the new bottom layer 100%, and make the paper opacity for the top layer 0%.
Now you have a layer beneath your original for painting in a background.

If there's already paint covering the entire canvas, I'm afraid there's not much you can do short of getting busy with the eraser, and re-painting on another layer.
