I love to paint old homes ever since I painted Stranger's Hall a couple weeks ago, wanted to try a night scene, so here it is, hope you like it, done in oil, knife and little airbrush and reference was old post card:)
Beautiful Pat.... I love the dark lines, they really strenghen the work and give it a great look :):)

A fine interpretation indeed! I like very much Your choice of colors in here and the confident strokes which evocates very well this past time scenario.:):):):) I'd also expect Mr. Hyde hidden in some blind alley around there ....:p

Wow Pat, how charming the painting is. Old occupied homes give me the "comfort, warm" feelings. In our area in WV, we see a lot of old abandonned homes and they seem so sad standing there nelected. Addition to that, many homes in our subdivision are being reprocessed for people are losing jobs.
I love to see your paintings.

This is very cool picture and painting. I love old houses and history in general. It reminded me that I have a couple pictures of an old house. It was the first house built in my little town. Which makes the house roughly built in 1820-1830.. I think. I would have to go to the library to get the exact dates.
I only wish the owners would work on fixing it up. It's a little bit in disrepair and my historical heart weeps when things like that happen. I decided I wanted to get a couple pictures before it disappears.
Feel free to use them if you want. I like to share photos, especially ones that people might enjoy.
