This is Plein Air Digital from scratch. One layer, one sitting.
I took Marilyn to the Dr's ofc - A new location for him. He was enthralled with the view from his new digs, and commissioned me to do a painting of it. You never know where a commission will come from! I took my pad connected to my laptop, and sat outside the window, and did this in situ.

Thank you all for the wonderful comments. I posted this for several reasons - First, I was pleased with the image. I also wanted to show what is possible with digital - We don't have to be stuck at a desktop. And I am an advocate of stretrching boundaries. I make $$ with my art, and since going almost total digital, have had no adverse reaction. People who buy my prints usually don't understand, nor care about the process - just the result. So - Get out, Create, Make $$
Dear Skylar, had to look twice!!! thought for sure i saw a canoe go byor a dragonfly skim across;), what a great effect and view, beautiful,!:)

Very nice painting. A question -- how do you prepare for framing? What type of a print to you get?

What you've captured so well is the freshness of the scene, like an old-world artists sat at a canvas. I think too often artists labour over a work fine-tuning, and that can produce incredible results but also stiffle the spontanaity of the interpretation of the scene. I like the zigzags in contrast to Eighty+ as that's exactly what it look like when a fish passes under the surface, and the whole scene has a sense of tranquil life because of it.

Shifty. - Thank you so much When approaching plein air, you have to just go with your first instincts - often the totally correct one, as it turns out.

beautiful spot and very nicely painted. i like the colors and the framing..:) .
Everything is beautiful in this painting.
The perfect composition, the different shades of green, the reflections in the water, the trees framing the landscape ... now that solitary tree, with a perfect volume and tone, and its shadow is exquisite:eek:.
Congratulations Skylar, one of your best paintings, in my opinion.

Well, we had our meeting, and I'm happy to say the doctor was thrilled. I am now having two large giclee prints on canvas made for him. One for his office, and one for the New Home he is building north of the city.
