None of this shows a complete costume, but your guy sorta looks like he could fit in with this crowd.

And there's the movie Tarus Bulba, with Yul Brenner. You could get a copy of the movie. No guarantees that it will have exactly what you want.

And if you are leaning toward the King and I, or some Genie or Djinn or something you can check out Hollywood for costumes.
Good start!

Thank you D Akey,
I had a look at your hint links and now have an idea about clothings.
After refining the chair i'll post an update.
Bye!

Great sketch. Proportions look spot on to me.
Here is a 14th century Persian painting of the Mongolian conqueror and his sons. I am guessing they were familiar with the clothing.

Cool gzairborne,
I think the first character on the left is inspiring.
Thanks!

Here's the clothing...
And a first shading test. Next i'll try to put some color in here...

yep, that would be him.
the sleeve on his left arm looks too baggy with the extra folds of material.
great job on the leather mail and the hat.

yep, you're right!
fixed the sleeve and the left foot (it had a unnatural posing).
added a bit of color... the sketch is still visible, but i plan to cover it with painting.
